The peak of Tamil heroism – nowhere else in the world…!
Many people do not understand the need to pass on the history of Tamileelam’s greatest fighters to the younger generation. It is a fact that many do not know that a fighter in the world has fought in 70 battles by the age of 25. This is a great achievement not only in the history of Tamileelam’s military but also in world military history.
He was only 20 years old when the third phase of the Eelam War began. He went down to the Mandaithivu naval base to spy. He went down into the enemy’s midst with a group of 15 people, launched a surprise attack, disoriented the forces, paved the way for the main attack teams, and paved the way for victory.
At a time when he was working hard for a great victory in the Vanni, he was assigned the task of spying for one-third of the Mullaithivu base. He had to spy properly and prepare the way for the troops to enter. Since the Mullaithivu base was connected to the ocean, he had to swim a long distance and enter. If the operation went a little wrong, the entire team would be defeated and destroyed. But he did it alone and became a great force in the victory of Mullaithivu.
He was 23 years old when he wrote in his diary that a fighter of his regiment had been trapped in a mine and lost his leg, which was his fault and that such a thing would not happen again.
The loss of life of women fighters in the Watershed military operation increased, and the “Oyaatha Alaigal – 3, were the same place where he led his troops and defeated the enemy.
The teams that landed in Kudarapu amidst 30,000 troops were fighting in this area, and at dawn our teams lost contact. The enemy had again taken over the abandoned places. Something had to be done by dawn the next day. The commander of the team, who had called the team leaders to a place, needed everyone to understand the seriousness of what he said and to organize them for action. “This is a matter of life and death for 1000 fighters, we should not be alive and take down the elephants and give reasons for their destruction,” he said.
In 1998, while he was enjoying the victory of the “Oyaatha Alaigal-2”, the national leader relieved him of his position as the Special Commander of the Charles Anthony Regiment. He was punished for using materials taken from the enemy’s army base for his regiment without permission. Being the Special Commander of a large regiment, he was distressed and withered, thinking that he had made a mistake to the extent of being punished by the national leader. If this was a different army, he would have resigned and left right away. But those who lived under the national leader’s upbringing are not like that.
He was again appointed as a special commander by the national leader in 2000.
After preparing for the “Oyaatha Alaigal-4”, he came to Commander Theepan and again appeared in the form of a bird and went as a warren. He was rescued with a body riddled with bombs and fought for his life for 4 days before becoming maveeran on 23.10.2000.
The child commander, who wrote in his diary that “After Tamileelam is achieved, I must go and tell my parents about all the pediyals who fought with me and have a heart-to-heart talk,” would be called “Appa” by the fighters in his squad. But he was only 25 years old at that time.
He is the great fighter of Tamileelam, our guard Lt. Col. Shekar (Mayandi Jayakumar)
How many histories, how many heroic stories, do we still have that genetic sequence within us? How many achievements? How are we going to teach all this to the next generation? Who is going to do this? Will there be a way to teach all this to the children of the future that your grandfather and uncle were brave fighters?
Our salute to the brave maveeran!
