Dating to the 16th century, these rare Tamil palm-leaf manuscripts contain Christian prayers written in an early form of Tamil script. They are thought to have been produced either by early Christian missionaries or within a tradition connected to the Malankara Christian community. They provide fascinating evidence of how the centuries-old Tamil palm-leaf tradition was also used to preserve Christian literature. This particular manuscript is preserved in the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., United States.
