In the three-year development of the secondary force…
On Monday, March 21, 1984, the Sinhalese government declared the Manalaru area of the Mullai district as a no-go area. The people who were evicted that day were not resettled again. Instead, the Sinhalese people are being resettled in that area as armed men
The foreign aid that came – and is coming – to the displaced Tamils is being provided to the Sinhalese people who have settled in this area.
The people of the Mullaipattinam villages were evicted during the Mullaithivu military operation. Even after three years, the Sinhalese government has not thought about the situation of those people. On the contrary, the people’s homes, educational institutions, places of worship, and hospitals in the Mullai Manalaru area were targeted for air force bombing.
The secondary force is an explosion of the atrocities continuously committed by the Sinhalese government on the people of this land.
To protect themselves and live freely in their own land, the LTTE emerged as a secondary force in early 1990.
All the villagers of Mullai Manalaru region joined this group. Except for a few villages, the villagers were resettled in their own land with the help of the LTTE. With the training to defend themselves, the LTTE emerged as a hunting rifle unit.
In mid-1991, the LTTE reached its second stage of development. After receiving special training, the 303 rifle was converted into the S.L.R. rifle unit.
Until early 1993. When the LTTE defeated the Sinhalese army’s major operations in Mullai Manalara region, they supported the LTTE’s attack force in many ways.
To date, three fighters from secondary force have been buried in the Maveerar Thuyilum Illam.
In the month of June 1993, the force reached the third stage of development and saw a different level of development in training and weapons use. Having received special operational training, it stands tall as a heavy machine gun unit.
In the special operation of the LTTE called ‘Idayabhoomi-1’, which instilled hope in the minds of the people of Tamileelam and made the Sinhala government and the army commanders stagger, the secondary force troops of Mullai region directly helped on the field.
This is a new turning point in the history of the liberation struggle. Not only this, but also the beginning of the hope that people can reclaim their land.
Back then – in the past years – life was taken away even though it was a beggar’s life. Today, that situation has changed. If you want to live, don’t set foot on our land!
The people of Mullai district are standing with weapons on the field and at the border, protecting their own land.
