Kunrakkudi Adigal ( July 11 , 1925 – April 15 , 1995 ) was a proficient scholar in many fields such as religion, literature, speech, writing and music.

Biography

Kandasamy Thampiran, who was appointed as the Commanding Thampiran of Dharmapura Aadeenam in 1945, effectively carried out many religious tasks. On his behalf, he had to address a function at the Athena Gurupuja at Thiruvannamalai , Kunrakkudi . Fascinated by the novelty of Kandasamy Thampiran, His Holiness the Lord of Kunrakkudi ordained Kandasamy Thampiran as the Prince of Athena for his diocese by formally agreeing with the Dharma of Athena.

He was then nicknamed Deivasikamani “Arunachal National Paramachariya Swamis”.

He became the Prince of Athena on September 5 , 1949 , and since June 16 , 1952 , has been the head of the monastery, becoming the 45th Crucifixion. Later, due to his work, he became known as Adigalar and was popularly known as Kunrakkudi Adigalar . The period when Adigalar Athena took charge was the most trying period for Hinduism . Hinduism came under attack and condemnation by atheistpropaganda. With these future tragedies in mind, Adigalar, over time, embarked on an effort to understand the noble virtues of Hinduism. For this purpose August 11, 1952 On that day he held a grand conference in Kunrakkudi to gather religious clerics and great Tamil scholars. The result was the “Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith”.

Later the branches of this movement which functioned in full swing spread not only in Tamil Nadu but also in Sri Lanka. Publishing of magazines

In addition to his speech, Adigalar, who was also a prolific writer , wrote numerous books during his lifetime and ran magazines such as Manimozhi , Tamilakam and Arulosai . The journals People’s Thought and Learn Science , which he started and continues to this day, are also notable.

Awards

  • The first Thiruvalluvar Award of the Government of Tamil Nadu was given in 1986. 
  • Annamalai University conferred the Honorary Doctorate (D.Litt) in 1989.
  • The National Broadcasting Committee of the Government of India presented the National Award in 1991.
