He was suffering from the massacre of innocent Tamils in Eelam. At one point, Rajasekar had said that he was going to set himself on fire for the Tamils of Eelam. Hearing this, his mother Rokkamba, who was shocked, asked him to give up the idea of setting himself on fire. However, on Sunday, March 15, at around 4.00 pm, Rajasekar set himself on fire in front of his house.
He was admitted to the Thanjavoor Government Medical College Hospital in a life-threatening condition. He died on Tuesday morning, March 17.
