Since ancient times Tamils have a tradition of Valor. Sangam literature, invasions, battlefield histories, and drama stories all highlight the valor of the Tamils. Even the lines of the Kurinji book that say, “can not sleep, there is war” show the determination of the Tamils on the battlefield.
Kings like Velir, Cherar, Cholar, and Pandyar had large armies and fighting skills.
Kings like Karikala Cholan, Rajaraja Cholan, and Rajendra Cholan crossed the seas to Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia with their valor and contributed tribute to the Tamils.
Veeramangai Velunachchi, Moothati Kitti, Ural Konda Nachiyar, and Peerangith Thambi also claim the role of women in Tamil valor.
Creation, victory, sacrifice, and virtues are all intertwined with Tamil heroic traits.
We can proudly say, “Valor is the life of the Tamil people.”
