The blind side of the Muslim people
Today, it is visible that some of the Muslim people are pouring out their hatred towards the Tamil people.
In the name of remembering the expulsion of the Muslim brothers from Yarlpanam in 1990. In the name of “We are digging a grave and remembering the 1990 massacre of gurus and monks” by armed thugs, they are expressing a distorted view of the Tamil people, especially our struggle.
Although the expulsion from Yarlpanam was a tragic event and may seem like a wrong decision today, it was the only right decision at that time. At that time, about 500 Muslim families and about five lakh Tamil families were living in Yarlpanam.
Many of these 500 families were in contact with Army Commander Denzil Koppekaduwa. They also committed betrayals.
Now Koppekaduwa made a master plan. In other words, Koppakaduwa’s plan was to provide them with weapons training and weapons, allow them to infiltrate into areas inhabited by Tamils, and kill LTTE fighters using Muslims.
You may ask why he used Tamil armed groups for this, why did he use Muslims?
The reason for this is that Muslim youths also started joining the liberation struggle and the strong mutual relationship between the Muslim Tamil people.
If Muslims and the Tamil people are related, the liberation struggle cannot be destroyed if it becomes strong. Therefore, his idea was to make Muslims and Tamils enemies mentally and let them be beaten.
If Muslims were used to kill fighters in Tamil areas, the anger of the Tamils would turn on the Muslims, and at the same time, the Sinhalese brains of that time thought that if groups disguised as Tamils were used to kill some Muslims, the anger of the Muslims would turn on the Tamil people.
In the Eastern Province, many massacres were carried out in Tamil areas by the Muslim henchmen of the Sinhalese. Muslim Home Guards, the Raasi Group, and the Jihad Fundamentalist Organization were deployed for this purpose.
Violence and massacres were committed against Muslims in areas like Kurukkal Math, Kattankudy, using some Sinhala mercenaries found among the Tamils.
The LTTE’s intelligence department has discovered that weapons were delivered to some Muslim homes in Yarlpanam to create a similar Tamil-Muslim conflict.
Imagine what would happen if a conflict started with a small number of Muslims in an area where five hundred thousand Tamils live. All the Muslims present would have been killed. It would have become a genocide of the Tamil people against the Muslims.
Even more than this, if Muslims were killed by Tamil armed groups or the Sinhala army and the blame was placed on the LTTE, it would have created a complicated situation and caused possible losses to the Muslim people.
To prevent this, the Muslims who were used as tools by the Sinhala side for this conflict were expelled by the LTTE. It was a very thoughtful decision taken by the leadership. That was the best and most correct decision of the day.
Through this, the Muslims were saved from the misfortunes that the Tamil people were going to inflict on them, and the dreams of the Sinhalese were also not fulfilled.
After that, the Sinhalese turned the tables. “They drove you out of the North. They are cruel. They will not let you live together with the Tamil people. You are also enemies of the LTTE. It was the LTTE who killed you in places like the gurus, the Mutt, the Katankudi.” They changed the minds of the Muslims to a position against the Tamil people.
Since then, that hatred and hostility towards the Muslims has continued. That cruelty was so great that in 2009, when the Mullivaikkal massacre was held, they ate milk and rice with the Sinhalese in the joy of victory.
But the Tamil people have given up for them many times. They even gave up the post of Chief Minister in the last Provincial Council.
In 2004, the National Leader in Kilinochchi expressed regret over the expulsion of Muslims from Yarlpanam as a tragic event and apologized to Rauff Hakeem for it. He also made a public announcement that Muslims could resettle in the North if they wanted.
More than this, the Leader did not want any of the massacres of Muslims against Tamil people to be documented, made a topic of conversation or commemorated. He banned it. It was an act carried out against the Tamil people by the Sinhalese under the influence of the situation. If we talk about it, it will only increase the conflict between us and Muslims. Therefore, the Leader has repeatedly stated that we will forget them.
But the Muslims, believing the stories of Sinhalese brains, have kept the Katankudi Mosque intact to this day. They have falsely believed that the LTTE committed the murders that they did not commit and have passed that history on to the next generation and have cultivated hatred against the Tamil people. The continuation of that is the efforts to dig up the monastery of the gurus.
It is also evident that all the murders of the armed men were blamed on the LTTE and the murderers escaped.
Today, the Rajapaksas have also used the same method to seize power. The Saharan gang has been used as a tool by them for this.
The Tamil people have forgotten the sufferings they have caused and forgiven them because they did not get caught up in the Sinhala brains and thought for themselves and considered the Muslims as Tamil-speaking brothers. They have also apologized for the atrocities committed against the Muslims by the Tamil people.
But the Muslims are still looking at the blind side and seeing the Tamil people as enemies. That is why they do not even accept the unification of the North and the East.
This hostile attitude will continue until the Muslim people understand the facts and abandon the Sinhala agenda and think for themselves without getting caught up in it.
