Nagesh (also known as Seyyur Krishnarao Nageshwaran, September 27, 1933 – 31 January 2009) was a Tamil film comedian. He has acted as a comedian, supporting actor and villain in over 1000 films in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada. His comedy style is said to be similar to that of Hollywood actor Jerry Lewis.
In the field of acting
Nagesh, who has been obsessed with acting since childhood, has acted in amateur plays. In Maniyan’s play ‘Dr. Nirmala’, he was nicknamed ‘Thai Nagesh’ because he jumped on stage as ‘Thai, Thai’ in the role of ‘Thai Dantapani’ and later changed his name from ‘Thai Nagesh’ to ‘Thai’ in English.
He entered the film industry in 1959. He made his acting debut in the film Thamaraikkulam. Since then he has been playing minor roles in some films. Sreedhar appeared in the lead comedy role in the film No Time to Fall in Love. Manorama has acted opposite him in many films.
K. Nagesh excelled in character acting in the movie Server Sundaram, which wrote the story and verse for Balachander.
