Tamil Eelam National Television

Launched on March 26, 2005, the television station is headquartered in Kilinochchi. This service is the first satellite television service launched in Sri Lanka.

This television service broadcasts for two hours daily. It is noteworthy that this could be seen by satellite communication in Sri Lanka, India, Maldives, Pakistan and Europe.

Not only in the arts, but also in Tamil, technology and the media, Tamil Eelam was the golden age that stood before no other nation.

Not only was it necessary to carry out the struggle successfully, but the media was created to tell us the truth, realizing the strength of the media in the world, realizing that their intentions, policies, the peace process of the time, their administrative structures, and the lives of the people, and so on, would be known around the world and would strengthen the struggle.

No matter what the media pretends to be neutral, they will highlight the interests of their respective countries. Some of the world’s most famous media are no exception.

Many incidents in the north and east of Sri Lanka were covered up and distorted by the Sri Lankan media. There was no distinction between the state and private media. However, the big lock on the press censorship was the release of some news items.

In the early days, the LTTE had only one newspaper in its hands, and that was to paralyze Jaffna and parts of the Vanni. The LTTE’s Voice ‘radio came at a time when there was a need to spread the word on such a large scale.

Also, from the year 2000, the LTTE’s Voice Radio under the name ‘Dethunna’ started broadcasting in Sinhala to facilitate the Sinhalese people to know their motives, policies, news etc. and began to tear the face off of the Sri Lankan state and Sinhala English media. .

It is noteworthy that before 1900 the LTTE aired a few hours of television broadcasts under the name ‘Nidarsanam’ and they were later destroyed by the Indian occupation forces who came to Sri Lanka.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) is credited with overcoming many obstacles and successfully leading the media struggle.

Today our armed struggle and media services may be paralyzed on Eelam soil. It is no exaggeration to say that the rise of every Tamil to become a journalist through the websites and the growing enthusiasm of the Tamil media all over the world have sprouted from the seeds sown by the media uprising in our motherland.

Today our struggle is preceded by armed militants with writing, just like the armed militants on the field!
