Tamil Rehabilitation Organisation managed by the Government of 'Tamil Eelam' 20.12.2002

In 1990, the Sinhala government forcefully evicted Tamil Muslims living in the Trincomalee-Uppuveli area, renamed the area ‘Bansalawatta’ and provided land to Sinhalese settlers, but did not provide any basic facilities for the displaced.

When they were living helplessly in the huts of Trincomalee when they were affected by the severe floods; On 20.12.2002, the Tamil Rehabilitation Organisation, which was managed by the Government of Tamil Eelam, provided them with food and essential items where 59 families received this assistance.

Despite all the help they have done for Muslims, the Muslims have never called themselves Tamils. They declared themselves a new race, the “Muslim”.
