Where is Our Sutharshan?

Sutheashan was not only a great medical warrior and beloved by militant patients, but later as a young dentist, he became known everywhere in Tamil Eelam.

He was born to parents Mr. and Mrs. Kandasamy, in Jaffna Udupiddty. In 1975, he came to the family under the name Ruban to carry the affection of his heart to protect Eelam in 1995.

He went into the field of dentistry at this time where he also learned about military medical care.

After 2002, Sutharshan took full advantage of the opportunity to provide medical care during the struggles for Tamil Eelam. During days of struggle, the Tamil Eelam Health Service looked after the medical needs of both the civilians and Tamil Eela  military. Thiyaga Deepam Theleepan worked at this hospital as a dentist specialist.

School children will never forget Sutharshan. They will never stand back and admire the talents of others without mentioning him. Sutharshan was very kindhearted and hard working. He will travel to places, even if he does not have a vehicle, and find a way to finish his duty.

At one point after finishing work at the Akkarayan Hospital, he fell asleep on the way to the Hospital in Kilinochchi at around 2 pm. Sleeping on the way, he collided with a plow machine parked on the road by side and hurt his nose and was bleeding . The next day there was a medical camp‌ order in the Nagercoil area.

“Sutharshan do not come. You have stitches. Stop the dentistry for now, stop the dentistry for now and rest.” said the doctor in charge. He still thinks about his work and is proud of it.

A few days ago, I spoke to a 70-year-old mother from a village in Veraavil, Kilinochchi district. When I asked about Dr. Sutharshan’s name, she clearly said without any hesitation, “I was devastated by my teeth. The only regret is that everything is still alive, and I will not forget him until this age. How many more mothers like this will be looking for you Sudarshan?

They will never forget the services rendered by him to this country and its people. Many more like him are still alive as witnesses to his service.

On the day of diagnostic radiology (XR) in the technology found in the days of the ban on medical supplies, you are the protagonist of our militant patients. Fracture patients in the hospital will ask you, “When is Sutharshan Anna taking an X-ray?” You were struggled to deal with them until the appropriate medical supplies arrive. Ask us why and we will show you how to escape. Any comrade comes to your aid, you have to tell them what you know and raise them in the field. You are a comrade who has been praised not only in the medical field but also, you are the comrade who appreciated the friendship of the brigade fighters, officers and commanders.

Whoever needed your help, you will be the first to come! One day when I had to transfuse blood, you were the first person to come and assist me, thus recently shared the memory of female comrade.

Sutharshan. Your memories will live with us forever.

He not only loved his country, but he also loved his friends. He is unique in that he acts without be asked of anything by his friends. His face blossoms in the joy of others as he is so wide-minded. I don’t know if you scolded him when his friends called him by many nicknames.

He was well respected by his friends and family.

Sudarshan‌‌ traveled in Unduruli by motorcycle. He would offer to pick up any mother that was walking on the road and drive them to her destination.

How can we forget the days when Sudarshan, the Tamil Eelam medical specialist of the mobile medical service, worked with us? Currently, Sri Lankan military intelligence had gathered at Vattuvakal on May 17 for more information about his whereabouts.

Memories of Sutharshan press hard on my heart, as it is difficult to talk about him.
