Sanjeev Manokaran – For the first time in the history of a European Club, an Eelam Tamil coach.
Oslo: FK Haugesund is one of the important football clubs in Norway. An Eelam Tamil named Sanjeev (San) Manokaran has been appointed as its head coach.
He has been working in the club’s development center since January last year and has now been appointed as the head coach.
Sanjeev Manokaran is an Eelam Tamil born in Denmark. Before joining this club, he spent more than a decade as coach of the ACF club’s under-10 to under-19 junior teams who played in Denmark’s Superliga series.
He has passed the European UEFA exam and is working as a football coach. He is the grandson of the poet Velanayur Ponnanna.
It is noteworthy that Sanjeev (San) Manokaran is the first Eelam Tamil who got the opportunity to work as a coach in the first-class football club teams of European countries.
