The camouflage used during the LTTE’s military tactical camouflage attack…
Tactical camouflage combat training is taught to a person when he joins the LTTE organization and receives training in the basic training camp to transform himself into a fighter. During basic training, he is generally taught in a normal manner, and then when he completes basic training and is inducted into brigades, he is given hard training on the methods of carrying out camouflage attacks suitable for those brigades, both on land and water.
When conducting investigation operations, when carrying out ambush operations, when entering enemy territory and during targeted attacks, according to the natural environment; the fighters who are going to attack will camouflage themselves according to the background of the environment in which they are going to attack. And they will change their appearance and move according to the operations in a manner suitable for that environment.
Used for camouflage: In the camouflage suit, helmet covering cloth, used in all armies of the world, a sack hat woven with ordinary jute thread and a hat that extends from head to shoulder, and a cloak-like garment woven with small fabrics are used to completely conceal oneself and move. In addition, camouflage is used when carrying out infiltration attacks and ambushes.
During small mini-camp attacks, ambushes, and reconnaissance operations, people use leaves and plants to camouflage themselves in their uniforms. Like these, those who act as forward observers for firing mortar shells also move in camouflage. (There are also histories of Karumpulikal who infiltrated army positions as forward observers; in the Jayasikuru Battle operations, in the Oyatha Alaigal 03 etc.)
Earmuffs: RPG. Rocket launchers, artillery, and mortar personnel wear ordinary earmuffs that are worn in the ears to prevent artillery and mortar noises from affecting their ears. Headphones are also used instead. This is known as Army Shooting Earmuffs Tactical Helmet Headset Electronic Hearing Protector Active Noise Reduction Hunting Headphone in the international military.
Lt. Col. Kuttisiri, a female freedom fighter from the Motorbike Regiment, can be seen wearing this in her ears.
