Women Brigade of the LTTE – Captain Ajitha.

On the 5 years anniversary of Women´s Brigade of the LTTE, the national leader Prabhakaran opened a house for women only in Palaly area. No one know when the Sri Lankan army will arrive in Palaly. It is a place with big gardens, big banan trees with good hiding places. It is a place where you should always be awake day and night. When the Sri Lankan army knows it is a place with women fighters only, it is a relentless battle and harassment attack from the army. The national leader words and tactics made the women fighters only strong in such incidents.

In the 1990s the Sri Lankan troops made a massive advance attack. Under the leadership of Captain Ajitha, the female fighters resisted for four hours and made a stop for the progress attack of the Sri Lankan army. The victory was in hand of the women fighters. They not only took 203 guns and a body of an army soldier. Captain Ajitha is credited being the first who fought alone with her team only and won the battle.
