Planned Sinhala immigration refers to the planned Sinhala settlements by the Sri Lankan Sinhala majority governments in a manner that undermines the traditional rights of Tamils in the traditional homeland of the Tamils. Although these projects were promoted by the government as land schemes for landless Sinhalese, these projects were implemented regardless of the rights and views of the Tamils living there. This was a major cause of the ethnic problem in Sri Lanka.
