Captain Anparasi

Captain Anparasi was martyred during the attack on the 4th Muchchandi Sri Lanka Army camp in Ampara district on 29.07.1995. Anparasi is an active sensible fighter. In her memory, the Maddu-Ampara Women’s Regiment was named the Anparasi Regiment.

The Moddu Ampara District Special Commander, who witnessed Cl. Mathana’s agility, courage, freshness and ability to lead the field, selected Mathana as the first Special Commander of the Anparasi Regiment.

Lt. Mathana became legend with other fighters in the battle in Vavunutheevu.

The regiment also played a major role in the victory battle at Pluguna, where they captured two great artillery. The regiment has history everywhere like in Maddu – Ampara District Forests, Mountains, Waterfalls in Vavunatheevu, Murakkottansenai, Mavadivembu.

Along with that, the heroic episode of this regiment was recorded in the Jayasikkuru Battle, Oyatha Alaihal 02 and in the beginning of Oyatha Alihal 03.

In the Oyatha Alihal 02 Regiment Deputy Commander Lt. Col. Gnani fell and became a legend.
