'Tamil Koodal of Humanity'

At the start of the LTTE Arts and Culture Association, a conference was held in Jaffna under the banner ‘Tamil Koodal of Humanity’.

During the press conference held there, I read an article about visual media. The conference was also attended by Sinhala artists and Sinhala media who were brought in from the South.

Later at the initiative of the Southern Sinhala media, I read an article at a cinema session at a conference held in Colombo under the banner ‘Sinhala-Tamil Art Gallery’.

When I was running the media at Kilinochi’s Science College, I had worked with and alongside some of the college-based programs.

I have conducted workshops and trained people on cinema-based cinematography and cinema-based media in the Vanni. Much has been learned about journalism and other art forms, either through practical experience or independently.

I have taken tens of thousands of photographs during the final war alone. I think that the various bad experiences of that deadly period and the need to record and expose those tragedies of the innocent people who were being harassed, kept me running as an independent media with memory.
