A Shiva temple built by Rajendra Chola in the 11th century AD in the medieval capital of Sri Lanka. For this Rajendran has engraved his inscription here in the name of his mother named Vanavanmadevi Eeswaram. A total of six inscriptions are found in this temple.
This is called the Second Shiva Temple. Only the sanctuary and Nandi are preserved.
