But documents show that there were more hospitals in Jaffna with government backed laws before Portuguese stepped in and occupied this country centuries ago.
The hospital is established not only to citizens but to provide medical facilities including surgical treatment and to wounded warriors. In this school, private hotels were also established for Hindu priests to stay and get treatment.
This Siddha hospital which operated with all facilities like upper caste, kitchen, surgical room, volcano room was disintegrated during the war to conquer the Jaffna kingdom in Portugueyar. The Siddha hospitals were restored and operated in 1838 when the British came to an end in the rule of Portuke and Ollandaram.
The hospital was allegedly escaped and continued medical operations when the Portuguean invasion destroyed the hospital. Also, they have founded and worshipped the fire diamond against the injustice that happened there. The Agini Vairavar temple which was burnt by them that day is present today.
