killed a political leader whom the Tamils deeply loved

Tamilchelvan has lived closely with me since the time he joined our freedom movement. I knew him deeply and loved him deeply. I saw him as my own loving brother. I saw from the beginning his beautiful smile and the thousand meanings embedded in it and the energies and personalities that lay within him. I nurtured him as an ideal fighter, a great self-commander, a great political figure, an international diplomat, an ambitious negotiator.

Tamilchelvan thought that he should get the freedom of the land he loved and that the people he loved should live in freedom, dignity and security. He was an ideal fire who melted himself and worked hard for the liberation of the people he loved.

          Prabhakaran

– The national leader of Tamil Eelam.

Today, the Sinhala nation has killed a political leader whom the Tamils deeply loved

I saw my leader with him…

The tragic loss to the Tamil Nation was the loss of Mr. Tamilchelvan, who for a long time had been the first level negotiator of the political-military front for the Tamil Eelam National Liberation War under the guidance of the Tamil Eelam National Leader, V. Prabhakaran, and who was richly enlightened and mature.

Tamilchelvan traveled to various international countries as part of the Norwegian peace process, attracting and convincing many Tamil scholars, academics and activists for his personal qualities in the midst of his political and secular work. Tamilchelvan also set an example by strengthening the scope of a united Tamil nation by involving Tamil scholars in the field to draft a draft of the Interim Autonomous Council submitted by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

He advised and encouraged all the Tamil academics and thinkers who visited our workshop many times and contacted us to work together to unite the Tamil nation.

Emerging Tamil Eelam with an international cellular system, while defending the nuclear approach based on the hope that Tamil Eelam will be liberated.

The experience we have gained in our work interactions with Tamilchelvan is that they have acted with a two-pronged vision of looking at interests and implementing possibilities.

Moreover, Sri Lanka has carried out this murder of Tamilchelvan in a way that blatantly demonstrates the military agenda of the Sinhala nationalist state. Such massacres and military operations by Sri Lanka, backed by the support of some peace-loving parties, are heading in the direction of causing long-term setbacks to the true peace and stability of the island of Sri Lanka – South Asia. The only way to bring real peace to the island of Sri Lanka is that the other countries help in the Sri Lankan military to realize that peace and reconciliation cannot be achieved through military violence against the oppressed.

The Tamil community will work to carry out the tasks left behind by Brigadier Tamilchelvan, as he wished. We join in the sentiments of his family, friends and the general public who are grieving the loss of Tamilchelvan.

He is not at a loss. He will not stop us from crying but he will not tolerate if we fall. The heroic homage we can pay to Tamilchelvan is that we will work with multiple determination for the noble cause for which he has always set out to lead his life and love.

Since 1984….

Tamilchelvan joined the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in 1984.
