First Tamil book printed in India:
“Hello Thambiran” – It is a Tamil book published in 1578. This book was written by Enike Enikekasu. This book is a Tamilization of a Christian teaching book written in Portuguese. It is the first printed book in Tamil. Tamil was the first Indian language to be printed.
The book was published in Kollam. It was published in 20.10.1578. The original copy of this book is in the Haddon Library, University of Cambridge. A copy of this is also on display at the Chennai Kannimara Public Library.
