Gangai Amaran Underwater Swimming Division
Ganga Amaran Underwater Swimming Division is a Special Brigade of Sea Tigers . The team’s mission is to swim under the sea with the help of special equipment and attack sea cells or other targets. In English such a brigade is called a Frogman . They can be called frog man in Tamil.
This brigade was led by Lep. Colonel Ganga bears the name of Amaran . He was the one who led the underwater swimming division of the sea tigers . Gangai Amaran was killed in 2001 by the deep infiltration unit of the Sri Lankan Army.
On May 09, 2008, the Ganges Amaran Underwater Swimming Division sank the A-520 Troop-Distribution Ship. This was one of their main attacks.
