Identity Card:

On the front of the ID card, the owner’s LTTE image will be printed with a LTTE stamp and the validity period of the ID card will be indicated. On the reverse side (horizontally) the LTTE members name, date of birth, height, blood type, member’s signature, another’s contract and identity card number are included.

People’s Force of LTTE:

These are for local (practical government controlled areas) use only.

During the Geneva Ceasefire Agreement, members of the LTTE were allowed by the Sinhalese government to go into the hostilities and engage in political activities. Those who go to Kudanadu via Mugamalai and to other districts via Omanthai should register at the registration stations at these Sinhala check-posts. The LTTE issued these identity cards to their members to do so.
