It is very difficult for a woman to engage in armed operations in a place surrounded by foreign armies and social enemies. Understanding the situation in the southern part of Tamil Eelam, the women fighters of LTTE was operating without identifying themselves. Lt. Anitha also worked hard for the homeland without revealing herself. Lt Anitha´s work was expanded throughout the Batticaloa district. She understood the simple life of the inhabitants in Batticaloa district. There were both Tamil and Muslim communities of different cultures. When the Indian Army came there was need for Lt. Anitha in Amparai too. Lt. Anitha did her duty strong and well by travelling between Batticaloa and Amparai. Lt. Anitha crossed the enemy´s base with confident and courage. When she was betrayed on 28.11.1988, she destroyed herself by drinking cyanide on the way to being captured and dragged by the traitors. Lt. Anitha was the first women fighter who fell in the south of Tamil Eelam.
