In fact, a freedom fighter never dies and the ideal fire that was his life is never destroyed – National leader of Tamileelam Mr. V. Prabhakaran, Chief Secretariat of Tamileelam, Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam 26.10.1996.
Mr. Kanthiya Perinpanathan (Nathan) worked as a key staff member in the International Headquarters of the LTTE in Paris. I am deeply saddened and to hear of the killing of two of our members, Gajendran (Gajan), by the conspiracy of the enemy.
Mr. Nathan is a senior member of our liberation movement, honest and decent. An unwavering commitment to the ideal of liberation. He has worked tirelessly for a long time traveling the world carrying the huge responsibility of international fundraising. His work for the liberation war of Tamileelam was immense due to his hard work and competence.
Mr. Gajan worked as a campaigner of our movement. He is deeply attached to the liberation of the motherland. He worked as a teacher in Eelamurasu and did a lot of philanthropy in raising support for our cause. The killing of these key officials who were involved in important international work such as fund collection and dissemination is a huge loss, not only to our movement but also to our national liberation struggle.
It is a well-known fact that the Sinhalese racist government is actively planning and working to disrupt the international structure of our liberation movement, which is growing and spreading its branches all over the world, and to break the support that gathers internationally. The Chandrika (Sinhala) government is openly trying to crush the Eelam independence movement by banning our movement abroad, blocking the contribution from the international Tamil community.
It is well known to the international community that the Sri Lankan government’s foreign diplomatic activities have these objectives. Since these diplomatic efforts are not working, the Sri Lankan government has resorted to rebellious tactics. We believe that these murders were carried out as a grotesque form of this conspiracy. The Sri Lankan ruler’s state terrorism against the Tamils has now crossed the ocean and taken the stage on the international stage.
The international world must realize who are the perpetrators of this cowardly act. Only then the world will know who the terrorists are, who violate international laws and human rights. We consider these massacres to be a obvious manifestation of the enemy’s cruelty.
This is a challenge to the global Tamil community that supports our struggle. I request the Tamils of the world to bravely face this challenge of the enemy and continue to work for liberation. In this very testing period, we must bear the heart-wrenching pains and continue our ideal work with calmness and awareness. I pay my heartfelt tribute to the ideal freedom fighters who worked tirelessly and sacrificed their lives for the noble cause of liberation of the motherland.
