Muvarataracanar, Tamil Nadu , North Arcot district , in Tirupathur Munusami Mudaliar – ammakkannu was born to the couple. Although he was called Thiruvenkadam, his grandfather’s name Varadharasan remained with him.
மு.வ. Vin’s education was developed in association with a small village called Velam near Walajapet, Vellore district. He chose to pursue higher education in Tirupati. At the age of sixteen he won the school finals. In 1928 he worked as a clerk for some time in the office of the Governor of Tirupati.
While working as a clerk, he quit his job due to ill health and went to the village for retirement, where he started learning Tamil from Murugaya Mudaliar of Tirupati.
In 1931 , Widwan passed the first level examination. He then studied on his own and wrote the Widwan Examination in 1935 , becoming the first student in the state to do so.
In 1935 he married his uncle’s daughter Radha Ammayya. To them were born male children Thirunavukarasu, Nambi and Bari. From 1935 to 1938 he worked as a Tamil teacher in Tirupati school. In 1939 P.O.L. Passed.

He received his doctorate in 1948 from the University of Chennai for his research on “Nature in Sangam Literature”. He is the first person to receive a PhD in Tamil from the University of Chennai. Is significant.
He joined Pachaiyappan College in 1939. He worked there until 1961 . In 1945 he became the Head of the Tamil Department of the College. Between 1948 alone, as part of his doctoral studies, he became an adjunct professor at the University of Chennai. From 1961 to 1971 he served as the Head of the Department of Tamil at the University of Chennai.
He then took charge as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Madurai in 1971 and served as a Specialist until 1974.

He has also been a member of the Board of Education of the Universities of Kerala, Mysore, Osmania, Bangalore, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Madurai and Cambridge.
