Name: Natarasa Thangavel City: Valvettithurai, Jaffna. One of the early advocate and pioneer of the armed struggle for Tamil Eelam’s freedom. After being detained by the Sri Lankan government, he was savagely killed by Sinhalese thugs in a judicial killings of Tamil Eelam prisoners at Welikada Prison in Colombo. The Sinhalese prisoners were encouraged by the complicit prison officers and his brutally tragic death ignited widespread outrage among the tamil community and population, strengthening the support for the in Tamil Eelam and Tamil Nadu for the self determination struggle.
