Northwick Park’s Intensive Care Consultant Ganeshalingam Suntharalingam, also President of the Intensive Care Society (ICS), has been awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honors for her outstanding work during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ganesh said: ′ ′ It was an extraordinary time, but we all met the challenge together and I am very proud to be part of the team. We pulled all the stops out and the response from everyone in our hospitals was phenomenal.
′ ′ It is a privilege to be part of a rota with a lot of great leadership and collaboration that comes from many others, so this honor is for my colleagues as much as myself. The pandemic has put critical care at the forefront and center of the public eye, and it is great to see that the work is recognized. ”
What is an OBE? The most outstanding order in the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, working with charities and charities, and public service outside the public service.
