“Pulipaychal” against operation “Munnokki Paythal” !

“Pulipaychal” against operation “Munnokki Paythal” ! 14-07-1995

Like the previous government, the current state has been aimed at capturing the Jaffna Peninsula. Previous State Plan: Knowing about LTTE’s municipal capability – a military blockade around the peninsula – then destroying the LTTE. Nevertheless, the current government is preparing another project as this siege effort has been thwarted by the LTTE movement.

The new structure of the Chandrika –  Ratwatta government is to capture the central cities of the peninsula, including Jaffna, and beat the LTTE from the peninsula – using the war with the LTTE killing of a considerable Tamil people – and start the genocide of the Tamil people.

This first step of this new project is called “Munnokki Paythal” a forward-running operation by the Sinhalese forces. The final target of the operation was to capture the Sandilipay – Sankanai – Sithankani – Sankarathay – Sulipuram – Ponnalay – Moolay – Vaddukkottay areas and then through Sandilipay and from the Vaddukodday area to the Aralik coast – two ends – to move towards Jaffna city. It is noteworthy that the plan of Kopakaduwa is almost similar to this operation.

Like Kopakaduwa´s plan was scattered in Aralik coast, Chandrika – Ratwatta’s plan fell into the dust with “Pulipaychal”. On that day – the Aralik coast temporarily prevented a danger to the peninsula.

Similarly, today – the “Pulipaychal” has temporarily blocked a war that the peninsula has met. It is the duty of our youth that these temporary protections are permanent. This permanent security can be required by increasing the movement of LTTE.

Sinhalese commanders have described the “U” shaped tactic of the English letter “U” format: Movement of State forces in the “Opportunatural Back”. The Sinhalese forces made a move from Alavettipay to Sandilipay Sanarani junction, and the next move from Madagal to Kallay and Ponnalay via Vaddukodday. The Sinhalese forces also controlled the Sanganay – Sithankani – Sankarathay from Sandilipay to Vaddukoday to ensure the safety of the Sinhalese soldiers.

However, as part of these “U” shaped military positions, the morning of 14-07-1995, the “U” was split in the middle of the morning. The formation of the Sinhalese forces has collapsed. The Sinhalese people, who were in the happy of the exaggerated campaign by the Sinhalese government, enjoyed their race as a historical victory. The Sinhala newspaper “Daily News” said: This is a fall on the head of the LTTE.

The soldiers who were stationed in Thandikulam distributed “ice cream” and expressed their happiness. The Sinhalese race celebrated the victory of the Sinhalese nation. The Sinhalese people had the feeling of capturing the Kingdom of Jaffna! All the Sinhalese soldiers, except for the soldiers of the Palali forces, enjoyed themselves. But what did the Sinhalese race do after the destruction of the “U” plan by the “Pulipaychal” of LTTE?!

Chandrika’s political leadership and Ratwatta’s army leadership for military operations are huge. Ratwatta, who was satisfied with these activities, said, “The country will be amazed when our forces begin the military action against the LTTE.” Chandrika, who has great faith in the primary acts for the invasion, said, “This is a war for peace!”

Chandrika and Ratwatta believed that the invasion was massive. The ship “Edithara” came with landing cells, 2400 tons of explosives – mainly unloaded by the Kankesanthuray port – Jalund – 20-07-95. Russian-made tanks and armored vehicles were shipped to Palali.

In addition, the Sinhalese Air Force bought Russian production aircraft that could compensate for anti-aircraft weapons.

Sinhalese forces opened the field on Sunday, 09-07-1995. The Sinhalese forces carried out artillery blows – in large numbers – towards the public. The people was not warned abut this battle and they could not find displacements. The rain of war was fallen and in all directions. People were forced to get rid of an emergency displacement. The shock of the bullets, the shock of the fireworks, and they had to left their relationships in their respective places. People were badly sad that could not protect the injured. Sinhalese forces were involved in the artillery fire – beyond the military operation – without any military purpose.

The state has reported that “There are no protests from the LTTE.” If so, why did the state forces do war against Tamil people? This is where one thing is clear. The targets of the “Munnokki Paythal” military operations is the destruction and displacement of the Tamil people!

Bukara and Supersonik were involved in the bombing of 8000 feet. The bombers carried out bombings in areas where the people were sheltered. Innocent people were murdered by air bombers. More than 120 people have been killed in the air strike on the Navali Church. At the aircrafts helped the soldiers who moved on the ground, observed the directions of the LTTE’s moves and engaged in the process of loading the wounded soldiers.

State forces have accepted that two aircrafts were attacked during this military operation.

One of them was severely damaged. Unable to fly, said Colombo newspaper (Sunday Times – 16-07-95) Nearly ten thousand special training and well-armed soldiers participated in this military operation. The Sinhalese forces were eagerly waiting for the next move towards Jaffna as they did not experience any major losses.

As a result, Justice Minister Peiris also issued a statement that the solution would be made public in a few days. The government was waiting for the conquest of Jaffna and imposing a half-resolved plan on the Tamil community.

Every day, the “Rupavakini” and the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation have been giving the war commentary on the war. But on the 14th, these special broadcasts have suddenly stood without forecasts. Since then, there have been many rumors in the Sinhala nation. “Rupavakini” and Broadcasting Corporation were involved in denying it and hiding the battlefield conditions. The people of the peninsula were panicked with the number of displaced persons, and the air strikes, which were seized by the Sinhalese forces.

It was at this point that the national leader prepared for a revenge for the military action of the Sinhalese forces. He prepared a massive brigade of the freedom fighters for a major opposition.

In the early hours of 14.07.1995 in Sandilipay, the freedom fighters launched a major attack on the soldiers who were waiting for the next move towards the city. This operation was moved directly from the national leader and was called “Pulipaychal”. As the name, the freedom fighters jumped on the Sinhalese force and destroyed it! On the light night, the Sinhalese soldiers were scattered backwards due to the “Pulipaychal”! Their command and distribution were destroyed. More than a hundred soldiers were killed. In addition, the Sinhalese forces’ confidence was scattered as the “Bukara” bomb plane was shot down in front of their eyes.

The “Edithara” command ship, which was supplying the necessary distributions for military operations, was sunken in the early morning of 16.07.1995 at the Kankesanthurai port. Since the Sinhalese government lost this 2628 tons command ship the distribution of ‘ahead’ has been closed. The Sri Lankan Armed Forces, which participated in the three war venues for the “Munnokki Paythal” operation, have suffered massive destruction. The Sinhalese generals, who had predicted the speed of action, the strength, and the loss of the Sinhalese forces decided to retreat from the seized areas. The LTTE’s massive army quickly united and explained the attacks – tactics and tactics to them, and the way the leader, the leader and the attacks, would have surprised the Sinhalese commanders.

The LTTE movement’s attacks are unique in all things. This is because the “Pulipaychal” was held in the three war halls (ground – sea – van). The “Pulipaychal” has been set up in the minds of the people of the panicized peninsula. During the “Pulipaychal” a ‘Bukara’ bomb plane – a powerful Sinhalese command ship has been destroyed. These losses to the Sinhala Air Force and the Navy have a major impact. This is because the planes bombed up to 8,000 feet to seek security from the LTTE’s anti-aircraft weapons. The Sinhalese commanders also had a hope that the LTTE would not bring such anti-aircraft weapons to a dangerous battlefield. That is why they were interested in flying above the battle. But the confidence of the Sinhalese Air Force has fallen. The Sinhalese Air Force is confused as to how to play their role in the future. LTTE´s eight “Torah” fighting boats at the Kankesanthurai port have received a major military dimension. The Sinhalese Navy controlled the North Port Sea with a Torah boat. Now, it is impossible to protect a command ship with eight “Torah” boats together. With the loss of “Edithara”, the surveillance of the North Port and the distribution of the Vadapulam army camps has been a major impact.

In a nutshell, because of the “Pulipaychal”, the city’s capability of the Sinhalese state’s armed forces has been severely damaged.

At the same time, the military leadership has the hope that the state forces can win a huge victory if they fight the LTTE on the traditional warfare. More than ten thousand army was also involved in the operation “Munnokki Paythal”. Still, the soldiers could not win. Therefore, it is very important to protect the seized places, just like capturing seats through traditional war. The freedom fighters have chased the soldiers from the seized. However, if the volume of the freedom fighters was not compensated as the Sinhalese forces, the LTTE will not be able to achieve a permanent success. If the LTTE is to win the upcoming battles, it must be increased. It is important to develop the LTTE movement and it has become an essential need for victory.

Growth and success

On 14.07.1991, a successful marine landing of the Sinhalese army took place in the vicinity. With that landing, the tendency of the LTTE´s attack on the Elephant Base has become a favorable to Sinhalese forces. Exactly 4 years later, on 14.07.1995, a military operation of the Sinhalese forces has been scattered by the LTTE´s “Pulipaychal” made by the tigers in the Sandilipay – Alavedi area!
