Salutations to the student fighter. On 28 – 3 – 1991, Jagan, a member of the LTTE student movement, was martyred by army gunfire in Kirimalai. Actively involved in various programs of the LTTE student movement, Jagan was fulfilling the national duties expected of a Tamil Eelam student. On 28 – 3 – 1991, in a battle to thwart the army’s advance towards Kirimalai, Jagan, along with some members of the student movement, participated in rescuing and providing first aid to the injured LTTE soldiers. With the courage of a Tiger warrior and the determination of “let whatever happen, happen,” Jagan entered the battlefield to give first aid to the wounded fighters. It was during this effort that he was fatally shot by enemy gunfire and died on the field. We offer our respectful tributes to this student fighter, who, as a pioneer for the Tamil Eelam student community, died a hero’s death.
