Alampil Thuyilum illam
Alampil Thuyilum illam, the home of Maveerar Day commemorations (Hero’s day), was in Mullaitivu.The bell rang at 6:05 pm, and the flag was hoisted. This was followed by a great tribute of silence and sacrifical flames.Maheswaran Yogarani, the wife of a patriot, the sister of Maaveerar Navam, and the mother of three Maaveerars lit the Premier flame.
At the same time, the parents of the other Maveerar, were honored and saluted with a sacrifical flames of their own. Coconut saplings were presented to the parents of these heroes in honor of their memory. It is noteworthy that relatives of many Maaveerar also attended these worship events.
