Captain Thevaki
Sivaprakasam Sivamegala
Arali West, Vaddukottai,
Yarlpanam
Birth: 10.09.1972
Death: 17.10.1995
Event: Valikamam, Yarlpanam, in the battle against the Suryakathir Force operation.
That was her last day. Standing in front of our mirror with her face blooming like a hibiscus flower, her hair stood in a tangle that refused to be combed. There was smile all over her. The joy of going to a fight was clearly visible on her face.
That day, her whole face was smiling. It was her last fight. We never thought that it would be her last day. We think that she would never have thought that either. We often heard from her that she had a long dream of “going to many fights.” But instead, her lifeless body arrived that same day.
Thevaki!
Her compassion that stood above everything. It stood tall on all occasions in her life of struggle. When asked, “Where is that new shirt you wear yesterday, Thevaki?”
She would give it to a new fighter who came to the camp. And she would say “I gave it away, sister.”
If someone needed help, Thevaki will be there. By that quality she was in everyone heart.
Any vehicle in the camp would be hers. Her speed, along with her ability to navigate any vehicle, shone through in everything she did. She always had a storm-like speed, even in her death.
