When our separate government in Tamileelam was in 2009, the famous restaurants in Kilinochchi were Cheran Restaurant and Pandian Restaurant. The people living in the area controlled by the separate government of Tamileelam cannot forget these two in a single letter. Both were operated under the finance department of the LTTE.

At that time, there was a policy in Tamileelam to have names in Tamil. Because of this, “ice cream” was called “kull kali” in pure Tamil. They would sell ice cream in a similar vehicle at all places where people gather, such as temple festivals, sports competitions, and LTTE policy meetings.

The taste of the ten rupee ice cream that you get there, no matter how many thousand rupees you pay, you cannot get it here. That is the specialty of our motherland, Tamileelam. Now none of these are in Tamileelam. Everything has been demolished and razed to the ground by the Sinhalese. But this is not the end. Soon, under the guidance of our national leader, we will rebuild everything that was lost in our motherland. Then, the ice cream trucks of this Cheran Restaurant will flourish in Tamileelam again.
