Today is the Memorial Day the heroic tribute to Karumpuli Major Rangan. He stormed the Sri Lankan Special Task Force camp in Puthukkudiyoruppu, Mattacalappu on 05.12.1995 and paved the way for victory.
The attack was carried out within a few hours of the Sri Lankan army occupying the Yarlpanam peninsula and hoisting the lion flag in Yarlpanam. In this attack, 25 fighters who fought bravely and paved the way for victory, became maveerar.
The memorial songs ff Rangan has gradually disappeared from the internet. The sad fact is that some relatives have acquired the songs of these forgotten fighters and, hoping for money and fame, have kept their songs in their possession without publishing them.
