Lt. Sabha(A.K.R.)
Lt. Sabha(A.K.R.)
(Marimuthu Pathmanathan)
Pallakkal, Kundasalay, Kandy
Colombo, the capital of Sinhala, was a lesson learned for Sabha. From morning to night, his back would carry the burdens. Sabha’s back was a burden. In Colombo culture, he would be called a ‘non-citizen.’ That may be a novelty and a question mark, but that was Sabha’s true life. Since he got married, he decided to live a life of honor, without being a burden to others. There were many days in his life when he would lie down without sleeping.
Saba’s married life ended halfway. His wife left this worldly life halfway. Half of Sabha’s life was over. He wanted to spend the rest of it for the country. Therefore, he did not want to marry again. His past life seemed like a dark dream. He did not want to turn over the chapters of that dream. Continuing to work as a slave also drove him to despair. Then?
Wanting to finish his half-life by serving the land of his birth, he joined the liberation war. A man who lived in the city, he started a life of freedom in the middle of the jungle. The Manalaru forest seemed to him a more sacred land than Colombo city.
Mullaitihvu Army Camp Attack-Sampan
Kulam Mini Camp Demolition
Both of these were battles tested Sabha’s skills. He first went to battle with a ‘DOS-1’ rifle. Then he said he wanted a G3 rifle and got it, and after some time he asked for an LMG rifle and got that too.
Being in Colombo city, the Sinhalese were a nuisance to him. During his free time, he would go fishing in the Naya River. Even when the wind and sea are rough, he would bravely grab the mast and go out to sea. This dangerous profession was a game for him. If the Naiya River and the sea had the power to tell stories, he would have kept telling his story.
After completing his vehicle-based commando training, Sabha set out to destroy the Aanayiravu camp. But he never returned. The waves of the Naiya River, which beat and roared for him, keep calling his name!
We salute for this brave fighter.
