Karumpuli Major Sadha / Puviranjini Today is the Memorial Day

Karumpuli Major Sadha / Puviranjini Today is the Memorial Day 25.05.2000,

While the Tamil liberation war had reached its peak in various dimensions, the era of the Karumpulikal evolved into a form beyond comparison, its greatest strength and new scope. The Karumpulikal were the spiritual forces who overcame the great barriers on the path towards Tamileelam, crossed the peak of self-sacrifice, and stood by the thoughts of the national leader of Tamileelam with deeds.

Their war sacrifice extended everywhere, from sea, ground, and sky. Nothing can be compared to the sacrifices of the secret Karumpulikal who destroyed many difficult targets and have become seeds without being revealed to this day.

“Karumpulikal are the shields of our nation, the removers of barriers on our path of struggle, the men of fire who break the enemy’s military might with their willpower.” These are the true lines that emerged from the thoughts of the national leader of Tamileelam.

The leader’s heart is the home he lives in, and the liberation of Tamileelam is the happiness he seeks. It is not easy to put into writing the caskets of determination that have become the language of unity and shine. I have considered it a great honor to follow in their footsteps. I am trying to record the selfless life of the Karumpuli Major Sadha/Puviranjini.

One of the green and beautiful villages of Mullaitheevu district is the Thanniyankulam of the Thunukkai Mallavi region. This village, which has abundant water resources and agriculture as its main occupation, has many people who contributed to the Tamileelam Liberation War. Major Sadha was born 16.01.1976 as the beloved daughter of Mr. Mrs. Manikkam and Lakshmipillai.

Her real name was ‘Kanakambikai’. Her family affectionately called her ‘Chithra’. She was the last child of the house. She grew up as a pet. She was a bright student at the Thenniyankulam school. Chithra, who was a plaything and a pet at home, saw her beloved sister go out to fight and was unable to speak during the 1991 Elephant Pass air-sea battle in Jaffna Hospital, where she was injured in the head.

She decided to become a fighter and fight against the military occupation in our country. She joined the organization on 17.09.1992 and completed her basic training at the 22nd Training Camp of the Women’s Division of the Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam. Later, due to her extraordinary talent, she was admitted to the 2nd Training Camp of the Tiger Brigade and trained there. She completed her training with various offensive skills and saw many battlefields. Sadha also played a role in the war in which the LTTE destroyed and captured the Mullaitheevu camp, through the “Oyaatha Alaikal 1” operation.

Later, she was praised for her excellent performance in the counter-operation against Sat Jaya. Her performance in the Siruthai Special Intelligence Commandos Regiment identified her as a unique fighter. She was adept at penetrating any tight enemy fort and gathering intelligence. While Sadha’s fighting skills were giving her a unique position, the idea of sacrifice took shape in her.

She could not keep the desire to become a volunteer fighter in her mind for a long time. She drafted it in a letter and sent it to the natioanl leader for permission. After a few days, she got the answer she wanted. She received the most hard and detailed training at the 2nd training camp of the Ground Karumpulikal Women’s Team and prepared for the next leap of her career as a Karumpuli fighter.

Karumpulikal are very soft-hearted. They transform their boundless love for the motherland and people into their strength of mind and travel with determination. Her comrades who trained with her at the Karumpulikal training camp are very fond of her. She is quiet person, and she works with everyone and does her work lively. She also pulls the work of others along with the daily work schedule given to her.

In their little free time, the Karumpulikal fighters used to grow vegetables in the small area of the camp.

During the training of the Karumpulikal team, various competitions for male and female fighters would be held in between. Sadha would even beat male fighters in running competitions. Seeing her speed, her friends gave her the nickname “Bear”. Her upright and strong appearance gave her a charm.

The leader often visits their training camp. Sometimes, when competitions are held in his presence, the enthusiasm of the fighters knows no bounds.

Thinking of doing good deeds, doing them neatly, doing them confidently and efficiently, and acting honestly and truthfully are the qualities that were always ingrained in Sadha. Sadha passes all the tests in their training sessions in one go.

In early 2000, the Karumpulikal launched a surprise attack on the Sri Lankan army’s large intelligence base located in Palay, Yarlpanam, and destroyed the base. Sadha was one of those who participated in that attack and returned. While working for the Karumpulikal team, she has been involved in many internal operations.

The various attack teams of the Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam were preparing for the 3rd wave of the war. At that time, a plan was hatched to blow up an army camp in the Mandaitheevu area. Sadha and some other fighters were selected for the attack.

Due to this, Sadha was allowed to go home on vacation. Her sister had also come home on vacation at the same time. It seems that her sister had realized that Sadha was going on an attack somewhere. She spent her time with her sister. Together with her sister, she bought clothes for children, sports equipment, sweets, fruits, etc. and went to the homes of the maaveerar families she knew, gave them to the children there, and enjoyed playing with them. That was her favorite vacation pastime. She found fulfillment in heartily pleasing the children who had brought their fathers or mothers to earth as maaveerar.

Sadha had a great interest in reading books and occasionally writing stories and poems. She could not fully engage in them. Sadha would always say that she wanted to keep the relationships around her happy. For that, she would want a country. Sadha had recorded some things in her diary. She wanted some things from her training supervisor, Gaddafi Anna (Brigadier Aadhavan). She had asked him to share with her family that she was willingly joining the Karumpulikal team and was going to the battlefield with great joy.

“I am leaving everyone with complete happiness and satisfaction that my life will accelerate the movement towards Tamileelam. I am going with pride that Tamileelam is certain, and that I am going to implement the national leader’s idea, and I have written that I am going to tell them.”

While she was standing in the kitchen, on the last day of her vacation, she cut a piece of the boiled potato that her mother had cooked and refused to have another meal. She told her sister that she was going to attack at the same time tomorrow. Without thinking about it, her sister left the house, telling her not to worry. Even then, her sister had not thought that she would explode as a Karumpuli the very next day. Unable to meet her mother’s eyes, she kept moving away.

On 25.05.2000, Major Sadha became the Karumpuli who had destabilized the enemy at Mandaitheevu by carrying explosives with her body and blending with the earth’s air. She filled the minds of Tamils. The ideal she desired has not yet been achieved. Let us be sure that when Tamil minds rise, the dream of Sadha, the Karumpuli, that our land will be defeated, will also come true.
