Towards our places – Malayalapuram is a village in Kilinochchi
Malayalapuram is in Kilinochchi District in the Northern Province of Tamileelam.
It is in the Karaichchi Divisional Secretariat Division of Kilinochchi District and about 6 kilometres south of Kilinochchi town.
Malayalapuram is a village inhabited by people who settled in the Selva Thondaman Agreement, displaced people from Yarlpanam, and people who lost their lands due to the war. Malayalapuram, which includes villages such as Sencholai Village and Maveerar Village, covers a large part of Malayalapuram in the north and south, and is bordered by Bharathipuram and Krishnapuram, Iranaimadu Junction.

Malayalapuram was one of the areas affected by the longest ethnic cleansing war in the history of Tamileelam. After the war ended, efforts have been made to resettle the displaced people here. Several resettlement and infrastructure development projects, including housing projects, have been implemented here with the help of India. Organizations such as the United Nations Human Settlements Programme have also helped in the reconstruction of community centers, roads and primary schools.
As part of the resettlement, the people of the area have worked tirelessly to rebuild their livelihoods and return to normal life. Malayalampuram, which has given birth to countless heroes in the history of the Tamileelam War, had a village of heroes along with the dignity of the soil.
Agricultural fields where no other livelihood is left behind, small-scale cultivation and plantation crops, education and labor are the capital.
Malayalampuram is a village undergoing post-war resettlement and development work. The people living here are actively involved in rebuilding their village.
