Malaysia Batumalay Cave Murugan Temple

There are a large number of Tamils in Malaysia.  It is a temple that not only Tamils but also Chinese come and worship.  The temple is located 13 km from the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.  Lord Murugan here is called Subramania Swami.  The height of the Murugan statue is 42.7 meters (140.09 feet).  The temple is located in a way that symbolizes Malaysia worldwide.

Although a Hindu temple, it is a place of worship for all, regardless of religion.  Batumalay Cave Murugan Temple Thaipusam Festival is celebrated in a special way.  The temple was built in the year 1891 and at that time one had to go on a rough path to see this Murugan.  Then in 1938, three walkways with 272 steps were built to reach the hill temple.  Apart from this, there is a separate railway line that can be used to go to the temple at a height of 400 feet from the ground and visit Lord Subramania.  Tourists call it Pathu Cave.

At the beginning of the nineteenth century, Tamils worked as mercenaries in Malaysia.  Kayaroganam Pillai was the leader of the workers at that time.  The Mariamman Temple was built in 1873 in Kuala Lumpur by his initiative.  One day Ambika appeared in a dream and ordered to build a temple for her youngest son Murugan in that mountain cave.  Following this, Thambusamy Pillai, the son of Kayaroganam Pillai, along with Kannappadevar started worshiping a Vel together in 1888 in the forested Batumalay.

Kuala Lumpur Governor Jose Durai has ordered the removal of the Batumalay Murugan Temple, which has become popular as a place of worship.

But the devotees continued to win the case in court.
