Mamanithar Sivamakarasa
Mamanithar Sivamakarasa is a former Member of Parliament and the managing director of “Namathu Eelanadu” newspaper.
He was shot and killed by the Sri Lanka Army Intelligence Unit on the night of August 20, 2006 at his temporary residence near Thurgaiyamman Temple in Thellipalay, while curfew was in force.
He was honored by the national leader, V. Prabhakaran, for his respected nationalism and his love for freedom. He was honored with the highest award ‘Mamanithar Viruthu’;.
