Mr. MU. KALANCHIYAM, is a youthful and dynamic Director in Tamil Industry. He started his Career as a freelance Writer and enforced the Film Industry as an Assistant to the Reputed Director Mr. Vasanth in the Super Hit Film “KELADI KANMANI”.

After Two Films with Mr. Vasanth he has joined with the Director C. Ranganthan in the Film “COIMBATORE MAPPILLAI” and worked as an Associate Director.

Mr. Mu. Kalanchiyam made his debut as a Director with the Super Hit Film “POOMANI” Produced by “ANAND MOVIE LAND” Starring “MURALI, DEVAYANI, PRAKASH RAJ, MANIVANNAN” in leading Roles.

Actually the film “POOMANI” was the Re-entry vehicle for those, then out of market like Murali, Heroine Devayani and the most talked about Re-entry of the Maestro “ILAIYARAJA”. The Film was a Super Hit made with a Low Budget. “POOMANI” was awarded by the TAMILNADU GOVERNMENT for Best director,Best Story writing, Best Villain, Best Action Director and the Debut Director Awards. Director Mu. Kalanchiyam was awarded with the most sought after FILMFARE and CINEMA EXPRESS AWARDS.

Then he directed the film “KIZHAKKUM MERKKUM” again a Low Budget Film Produced by “DEIVANAI MOVIES “starring again the Low Profile Artiste “NAPOLEON, DEVAYANI, NASSER, MANIVANNAN and GEETHA”. It’s also a Super Hit Film made with a Low Budget The TAMILNADU GOVERNMENT has again awarded the Film “KIZHAKKUM MERKKUM” as the Best Film Exposing the AWARENESS and RIGHTS OF WOMEN”.

In “POONTHOTTAM” Mr. Mu Kalanchiyam has tried his hand as an Action Film Director and succeeded in his effort. It was a very Big Hit Film and Proved that he is a versatile Director. The theme of the Film was praised and the making style of the film was most talked about by the Film Critics and Writers.

Now established as a talented Director, he made his Fourth Film “NILAVE MUGAM KAATTU” for “MAHALAKSHMI INTERNATIONAL” Starring “KARTHIK, DEVAYANI, MANIVANNAN and VADIVELU”. As this Film was a Remake from Telugu, the Business and reception was moderate.

Mr. Mu.Kalanchiyam has availed the services of Maestro ILAYARAJA for all his Films until this juncture.

To change the monotony, he introduced a New Music Director “ASLAM MUSTAFA” in his Fifth Film “MITTA MIRAASU” Produced by “UDHYAM INTERNATIONAL FILMS” Starring “PRABHU, ROJA, MUMTAJ, NEPOLEON, MANIVANNAN, VADIVELU”. Again the Music was good and the Story was good.

Produced with a moderate Budge, “MITTA MIRAASU” made Money in a reasonable way and the Producers and Distributors were more than satisfied by the Success of the Film. Like the other Films of the Director MU. KALANCHIYAM’S “MITTA MIRAASU” also is on the fray for 49th FILM FESTIVAL AWARDS.

Now He has directed and acted in a movie “KARUNGAALI” Produced by SRI GURU JOTHI FILMS.

“KARUNGAALI” has been widely appreciated by all types of audience, especially family and youth.

“KARUNGAALI” has been getting some have reviews from the critiques for its screenplay and actors performance.

The background score of this film is widely appreciated and considered as the best work done so far by its composer Mr. Sri Kanth Deva. The film is a musical treat also “KARUNGAALI” is a visual treat for the audience.
