Division of Tamil Eelam Finance

Brigadier Tamizhenthi, Finance Officer, Tamil Eelam (Sabarathinam Sellathurai), Jaffna District, (15.02.1950 – 10.03.2009).

Brigadier Tamizhenthi, popularly known as Tamizhenthi Abba, worked for liberation from the beginning of the Tamil’s financial struggle and was in charge of the LTTE’s Finance Division. He was involved in various activities to raise funds for the liberation struggle at home and abroad. Since the beginning of this struggle, he had worked to raise funds for the libteration struggle for the homeland.

He created various departments in the homeland and engaged in activities to obtain revenue from the homeland in as many ways as possible. To this end, he created many divisions, set up farms, set up factories, and engaged in farming to earn income for the liberation struggle.

He also oversaw all construction work, including work for the LTTE structure. During the peace period, he embraced the Tamil language and took pride in promoting the Tamils by naming Tamils in all administrative structures.

He worked with initiative to learn many projects and the history of Tamil through the Tamil language for many Tamil freedom fighters.

From the earliest days of the Tamil Eelam Liberation Struggle, Tamizhenthi was fully committed to its development and was well-respected by the national leader and his fighters for his unique ability to effectively operate the financial sector.
