The number of Arabic-speaking people in the world is sixty crores.

The number of Arabic-speaking people in the world is sixty crores.

The number of Tamil-speaking nationalities (THE TAMILNATION ALL OVER THE WORLD) is also sixty crores. The Arabic-speaking people have twenty-three countries in the world and twenty-one countries of their own in the United Nations. The same number of Tamil people do not have any country of their own. There is not even a chair for Tamil Nadu in the United Nations. Many of us are thinking and regretting this.

We have thought about it in crores. We have spoken in thousands of speeches. We have published policies in hundreds. We have formulated plans in tens. But we have not done a single thing in action.

In a democratic country with a unitary constitution, a chauvinistic people’s government will not allow the minority nationalities to live free from the clutches of the chauvinists. Because the majority nationalities, with their large numbers, will permanently impose their rule on the national minorities.

The path of virtue first…
The minority ethnic groups. They will appeal their demands to the majority. They will submit petitions. They will convene congresses. They will pass resolutions. They will also shout in the assembly. They will also send messages to the ruler.

Life or death?
When none of these are used, the national minority will be in a state of life or death. Then they will be plunged into a struggle for oblivion. These are the reasons why people in the world have entered armed wars. The same situation has occurred in the island of Sri Lanka.

A Tamil youth set out! A hero among heroes!! He is Prabhakaran, the brave son of Eelam! He collected weapons and concluded that there was no other way to save his homeland of Tamileelam, his language and his people except through armed war. He formed an organization called the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. He entered the war. Initially, a few youths supported him. Some became many and today they have become tens of thousands. More than a thousand Tamil youths dedicated their lives and bodies for freedom.

The war took place. (It is still going on today) not for a year or a year, but for many years. The governments that tried to suppress him, not one but two, the Sinhalese government with a majority population, could not fight and win against Prabhakaran. In the end, they came to a ceasefire with him. Apart from inviting him for talks, the Sinhalese government could not do anything else. As a result, Prabhakaran appears to be equal to that government today.

The Indian Empire, which defeated China and Pakistan, sent seventy-five thousand soldiers to Tamil Eelam to suppress Prabhakaran. In the end, it was unable to suppress or capture him and returned disappointed.

There is beauty in this. Both these governments have a country. They have an army. They have weapons. They have a place to stay. They have food. They have clothing, supplies and war equipment. They have a ground army, a navy and a ground army.

Not only did he have none of the above, but he also had no shoes on his feet, no proper clothing on his body, and he fought against both governments for more than two years, hiding in small forests and bushes.

No one has appeared like this for two thousand years since the Purananooru.

There were those who doubted whether Thambi Prabhakaran’s actions were right or wrong, those who doubted whether his intentions were good or bad, and those who doubted whether he was going to achieve victory or defeat. But no one doubted that he was a hero.

On the birth anniversary of such a hero, the magazine ‘Veeravengai’, edited by scholar Kovai Mahesan, is being published as a special magazine, carrying articles by good scholars.

Anyone who fights for a just cause does not have to wait for victory. It will fall at his feet by itself, is the good word of a great scholar.

I wish this to be realized, and I wish that my brother Prabhakaran may return from the battlefield carrying his ideal banner of victory, may he be in good health for many years, may he live a long and prosperous life, may he do many good deeds for the country, language and people of Tamileelam, and may the “Veeravengai” magazine, which celebrates the birthday of the hero, release its flowers and rejoice, may it expand and shine even more brightly.

– K. A. P. Viswanatham
This author is one of the great Tamil scholars, affectionately called the “Muthamalikavalar” by Tamils. He fought against the imposition of Hindi in 1938 along with other scholars and stopped the imposition of Hindi. He fought to stop the use of “Aakash Vani” in Hindi and to broadcast on the Tamil Nadu Radio Station as the All India Radio Station, and he succeeded in that. He was involved in all fields in Tamil. He was an excellent orator and author of many books. He is the great Tamil scholar who celebrated his ninetieth birthday in ninety places, the late Mr. K.A.P. Viswanath.

In 1949, Periyavar Selva and Koppay Goman Amarar K. Vanniyya Singam also could not tolerate the ethnic treason of the Tamil Congress. Since leaving it and starting the Tamil Arasu Party, this ninety-year-old youth has been observing the struggles and political turning points in Tamileelam with deep interest. He has spoken extensively at Tamil Arasu Party conferences, colleges and academic meetings in Eelam.

Here is the golden poem written by Apperiar for ‘Veeravengai’ from the balance of the scales about the current Tamileelam national leader, Mr. V. Prabhakaran.
