Day 8: Many people came to see Thileepan. Mathan, a young LTTE member from Batticaloa wanted to hunger strike with Thileepan for 2 days. In Mullaitheevu, a LTTE member Thiruchelvam announced he was going to hunger strike along with several civilians. The non-violent struggle spread faster than the armed struggle. Thileepan was the ideal force of all. That day Thileepan could not speak, could not walk and could not get up but thousands of people converted to non-violence with Thileepan. Pople who could not speak on the stage shared their ideas in writing and all written comments were sent to the Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.
