This is the land where grandma and grandpa appeared and lived!
The poet Santhamar sang all the congregations in Tamil,
When the sky rose to a thousand heights, where else?
It is in this land!
When the breeze touched the mane and rejoiced
When the body sweated and grew
When we ran like calves, when we made love and melted
When we watched the four temple festivals until dawn
All stopped.
Our homeland is swimming in fire water.
When the paddy fields were ripe and lying
When we stood tall and solved riddles,
When the cows grazed in the meadows,
When we went to school with renewed vigor,
When we crossed the valley and rode happily to the shrine,
When we were happy during the time before the cell fell down!
