Tigers of Tamil Eelam and the Indian Army was October 10, 1987.

The official date of the war between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and the Indian Army was October 10, 1987.

On one side, there was a war, and on the other side, a specially trained Indian team under the name of Checkmate was engaged in an intensive search and rescue operation to arrest the leader Prabhakaran.

During the war, Anni Mathivathani and her two children took refuge in the Nallur Kandasamy temple along with the refugees.

Realizing that his family’s mixing with the people was a danger to the people, the national leader called his wife to the Alampil forest where he was staying. He handed over the children to his mother and father.

The attack on the Alampil forest was frequent. In a situation where anything could happen at any time, he sent his wife and two children to the European country of Sweden to be safe.

They were called back to the country in two years.

This picture was taken while they were there.
