The next most important area of world politics after oil is the sea. The globe we live in is surrounded by three-quarters of water. The geopolitics of oil has faded, and the modern world has entered the politics of water (sea).
Surrounded by water on three sides, the environment, central importance, and politics of Tamileelam are all seas. The sea is also what connects Tamil Nadu, another Tamil land, with Tamileelam.
It is the combined movement of all these psychology, politics, science, and geography that led the national leader Prabhakaran to the ‘Nanthikadal’.
Sri Lanka, which has one sea on its side, does not have the regional importance of Tamileelam, which is surrounded by sea on three sides. This is where the political existence of the nation Tamileelam, which focuses on regional interests, is centered.
That is why the national leader paid serious attention to developing the LTTE Naval Team one step further than other structures. Accordingly, the LTTE Naval Team proved their strength by creating a sea fortress in the Indian Ocean region.
This sea fortress and the central importance of the Tamileelam sea are the most important reasons why superpowers like the United States consider the de facto government of Tamileelam – that is, the forces that must destroy the LTTE.
It is unfortunate that Indian policymakers, who focused on narrow interests without a clear vision, also helped in this.
Since the ‘sea fortress of the LTTE’ has broken down, the Indian Ocean region has created a problem for India.
The pride of not only restoring the heroic tradition of the Tamils, which could change the course of this world order – which threatened the superpowers – and making it a topic of discussion on the world stage, but also of identifying the politics that would forever center on the Tamileelam Sea and turn the interests of the Tamils in favor of the interests of the Tamils, belongs to the LTTE Naval Team.
The role of General Soosai, who led the LTTE Naval Team by standing at the head of the Tamileelam government, will retain its place in history in this sense.
